Footstool Jump Confirmed?

Hard to explain without slowing down gameplay,​

but I noticed it barely while watching one of trailers on the nintendogs 3DS stage.​

Curious to see if this mechanic will be present on the wii u version as well?​

It most likely will. I don't know if footstooling caused any problems in the community, but I don't mind having it back.

It definitely looked like a footstool. I have no problems with it returning. Just keep tripping out and we'll have no problems.

I'd say footstooling is confirmed, though I really don't have a problem with it. If anything I think it made edgeguarding more intense in some ways.

I would be glad to see footstool jumping return i always thought that it can give charaters who don't have a good recoverie another way to get back on the stage.

I'm fine with it coming back, after all, it's just another non-random, known factor. It isn't random and unpredictable like tripping was.

Idk im 50/50 on the whole footstool thing coming back. I wouldn't mind it if the Boxes match the animation but the fact that it happens to me and my friends when we aren't trying to do it really sorta sucks. On the other hand its a pretty useful technique. The only problem with footstooling as a recovery though is if people see it and start to rely on it as a recovery option people will just let you die off the stage. Or maybe a good thing would be to have like how they have in custom controls in Brawl like how you can turn Tap-Jump on/off maybe they could do something similar in this new installment.

I really hope they give the tap to jump off option, it was the best thing ever for me.

I think the both of you posted it on the same day. Not the video, but the spotting of Footstooling. I'm not quite sure who saw it first though. >.<

Footstooling was a great tactic for when you side B a character to the bottom of the stage, then footstool them to make recovering harder for them. When I say Side B, I mean Pit's side B
