Dancer registration
I haven't received the latest report from TTW HQ in the US, but I believe we have at least 65-70 registered dancers. Woohoo!
If you still haven't registered officially yet for the dance, please do so today. If you can't access the online form, we will have spare registration forms tomorrow night for you to sign. Register now: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/4119TTW2010ParticipntPreReg ( just copy and paste this url into your browser, if it doesn't work the first time keep trying!)
If you will be dancing on the night you need to complete this online registration form so you count towards the world record. Our independant witness will check you off this list on the night.
Donation
I'll be hiring some equipment and a couple of crew. A donation of $5 on the night would be great and will help me pay for the event. Please bring your fiver on the night. I will chip in any expenses above the donation amount, and if there is any money left it will go to our nominated charity.
The Dance
You already look brilliant doing the dance, but if you want to practice at home, view the videos on www.thrilltheworld.com or download the dance script
Please note that it's best not to practice too close to performance time. This will freak you out, trust me! I don't recommend practicing on the day, but if you must, do it nice and early so you can forget about it and enjoy getting ready.
Charitable donations
I have chosen Lifeline as our nominated charity. Lifeline provides access to crisis support, suicide prevention and mental health support services to people in need 24 hours a day. Somewhere in Australia there is a new call to Lifeline every minute. For more information on Lifeline visit www.lifeline.org.au. I will pledge $100 to Lifeline, on top of what we might manage to raise as a group.
Please bring the sponsorship donations you have collected on Saturday, Bec will collect your donations and the money you've raised for Lifeline. If you don't want to bring cash, you can transfer the funds to Bec's PayPal account here bec.k@optusnet.com.au
TTW is not just about the dance, it's also about honouring Michael Jackson as the incredibly generous philanthropist that he was, so TTW events often raise money for charity. You can choose to have your friends, family, neighbours or workplace sponsor you for doing the dance, even a dollar is brilliant, or just make a donation yourself. Costumes
The most important thing about your outfit is that you can do the dance in it. If you need advice on creating zombie wounds, scars, or makeup effects, contact Tracey or my sister Wiggy (Elise) at Costume Factory Kensington 9372 3850, they are the experts! If you need any costume items or accessories, Wiggy has very kindly offered a 15% discount on costume/accessories and a 10% discount on makeup for Thrill the World participants. They have an incredible range of stuff and great makeup www.costumefactory.com.au
After party
Our generous sponsors the Bella Union Bar will be hosting our after party. If you wish to invite friends and family to watch us dance (and mind our handbags) please do, everyone is most welcome to join us at the Bella afterwards for some MJ videos, music and post dance frivolity.
