It's a bit tiny...
Well I'm going to first get some of the characters through classic mode and once I unlocked the dolls () I'll get everyone else through vs mode probably since I plan to do 8p matches with them on each stage.

So VS. is clearly the fastest way if you're not going to play WoL anyway, right? You just have to reset the app between each character; honestly daunting af. I might just play the game, not try for unlocks and let them come naturally.
