First-Person Perspective...?

Wonks

I was just thinking about the Smash direct, and in it we saw two instances of a first-person perspective on the Wii U version:
  • Wire Frame Little Mac is shown punching in this viewpoint (in addition to his initial reveal promo picture)
  • The Beetle is shown picking up Fox
While I can't imagine an option to play like this, do you think we'll be able to re-watch saved fights and this will be one possible angle, or could the GamePad have this simultaneous perspective for novelty's-sake?

I kind of hope we can cut up and re-edit replays cinematically. I used to do that a ton in Call of Duty: Black Ops, back in that era. Part of me thinks that it's just a camera mode Sakurai and the developers have access to, though.

This would be a pretty cool feature to have while re-watching matches.

I just wonder how the hell it will work for Mr. Game & Watch.

I would love an event match where you play as wireframe Mac againist DK with a first-person perspective.

Mr, Game & Watch is actually a fully 3D Model in Melee.
It is just given special details that make it look 2D (an optical illusions), and flattened out in the actual battle

I think 2nd person would be where you are seeing through the eyes of a character you aren't controlling.

Yeah, it's probably just from the replays where you can change the camera angle.

Maybe we'll get a special CAMERA mode like in Melee? You can still have four players using wii remotes (w/ nunchuk / classic controller) and pro controllers and then the fifth player will use the gamepad to control the camera. It could even use the gryo-sensors so the player controlling the camera could get up and walk around the room (hopefully behind the players or to the side) and get different angles. That would be tricky to play in that environment, but they did do it before.

An MKTV-style replay system would be pretty cool. Heck, maybe even upload them to YouTube.
