Finding a Venue?

Hey guys, fairly new tournament organizer here. I've been hosting bi-weeklies in my area for a couple of months now, but it has taken place in a trading card game / tabletop game store and the space we are allotted (though spread out to various rooms in the same hallway) is fairly cramped at times. What kinds of venues should I look for, and what's the best way to find out information regarding their pricing?

Libraries are a really good place to start (depending on your area). Their prices are often the most reasonable. Some will have info on their website, but others won't, so you may have to make some calls or just go ask in person. You can also look into universities or colleges. Hotels generally have meeting or event spaces available, but they might be more expensive than other options. If you get a large group out who are willing to pay for the venue, it is feasible. Sometimes you can find cheap/free places like churches too. It might not be a bad idea to just ask the people who are showing up to your weeklies if they have any good ideas. You might be surprised.
