Final Smashes Weak?

I dunno if there's a thread for this already, I searched though, and couldn't find some, but does someone else think that some of the Final Smashes are just weak?

I mean, compare Mario's FS with Yoshi's FS... Mario's is a big fire attack that will attack the whole screen from Left to right/right to left and there is almost no escape...
And Yoshi's attack just gives him wings and flame breath, which is cool, but seems rather dull and weak...

Also, compare Pikachu's Volt Tackle with Diddy's FS, Volt Tackle is a strong knockout as we've seen in the trailer, with the chance that you'll fall down if it stops over the edge...Diddy's attack is flying around and shouting Peanuts down, which requires some good aim since the Peanuts are pretty small...and your opponents are able to eat them to restore health!!

It's not that Final Smashes will appear in tournament play or something, but I think they're pretty unbalanced as far as attack power/control goes, and with control I mean, Yoshi's Final Smash requires to be controlled, and this I think is not very handy, but Donkey Kong's smash just let's you sit back and relax, punch some buttons and listen to sweet beats.

Well, opinions anyone?

Yeah I know they're the most powerfull moves in the game, I'm not completely stupid, but in COMPARISSON (spelled right?) WITH OTHER FINAL SMASHES, some look weak...

Well they can't all be like MArio's (Pikachu giant Thunderstorm, DK grows big and smashes, Capt. Falcon pwning whole screen with Knee...)...

This won't change anything you know.

Hey im sort of new at this, ok i belive that they made all the diffrent character final smashes diffrent types/power becasue they wanted to add another level of character induviuality to the game. If every character had similar final smash with the same sort of power then its exactly like having clone characters (falco, young link) in the previous game.

Good point though some do look weaker than others, but im sure those characters who do have "weak" final smashes have some sort of statigical advantage as well.

You are overlooking that Mario needs to be in a specific place for his final smash to work. If you got the smash ball and you're looking the other way, then you're pretty much screwed because you're attack is going off the stage. Yoshi, however, allows you to control the move, whereas Mario's move you can't. They give each attack their own strengths and weaknesses. Where one lacks, it makes up in a different area. Not all Final Smashes have to be uberly powerful to be Final Smashes. Some allow you to control them with limited power while others do awesome attacks which you can't control at all.

Other Final Smashes, like Pikachu's, probably mix power and control. The control's for Pikachu's volt tackle is probably not precise. It may take a level of skill in order to control it. This makes it harder to hit enemies and easier to fall off the stage. But the power it has is immense.

I'm speculating here, but I'm trying to make a point. Final Smashes are lacking in certain areas, yes. But to make up for that, they are given strengths in other areas as well. It's all about balance.
