Give out your Friend Code, help people out with their stuck-ness, and give what you feel is the best team ("All Onion Knight Team" exluded... you cheaters). Final Fantasy III for the Nintendo DS.: that's all this thread is, and that's all this thread will be.

My friend code is: 0 2 1 5 7 7 1 2 1 2 6 3

Yeah, its definitely hard by today's standards - but that's one of things I like about it. Sure, forcing you to redo an entire dungeon after losing to an extremely powerful boss may be frusterating, but it just makes it all the more satisfying when you succeed.

I suggest you stick with it Numa Dude. RPG rule #1: with enough level grinding even a bunch of hobos can kill the king of the universe.

Ingus and Luneth are Warriors, Arc is a white mage (formerly red) while Refia is a black Mage.
Good combination. I too prefer to have two heavy hitters, one offensive magic user and one magic user devoted to healing (though White mages obviously have some magic attacks as well).

I've stuck with a Red Mage (Luneth), a Warrior (Arc), a Theif (Refia) and a Black Mage (Ingus) for about the entire game so far. I elected to devote my red mage to healing duty, though his low MP may force me to reasess that decision before too long.

Finally, a thread.

I'm going to go home, look at my game, and post back.

And yeah, I agree that the storyline is kind of iffy. I love depth in rpg's.

As far as my standing goes, I'm in the crystal tower, I just need to find the boss, who's name I've forgotten.

Wait you've made Arc your warrior and you made Ingus and Luneth Mages? Kind of weird considering their personalities.

Yea, I'm in Crystal Tower too. I have ZERO clue of where to go.

Right now everyone in my party is level 60. I have Luneth switching between Knight and Blackbelt, Arc is switching between Devout and Sage, Refia is a Dragoon, and Ingus is a Ninja. It seems like a very well rounded party IMO.

Personalities? Are we talking about the same game?

O.k., to be fair I guess they do have a few basic personality traits...

Sorry, I mixed up Ingus and Arc (I had forgoetten their original names because I renamed them) so Arc is my Black Mage and Ingus is my Warrior.

Here's a question: when do I unlock some of the more advanced classes? I have my eye on the Viking.

Summoners would be the best class if they could choose the attack their summons do. I don't like that you have this probability of what moves they do, and it's all chance what they hit with. It really takes a lot of the strategy out of the game. And the lord know's I'm the unluckiest kid ever.

P.S.> Changing my friend code because I had to get a new DS. (The L button jammed on the old one)

Yea, the sage has been downgraded significantly, the summoners also get x2 the MP when you start out with them. They are last crystal classes, but you will be better off using them.

Alright Lightshade, you let me down. There's no way to choose what move your summoned creature does. It always does the attack move when summoned.

Also, I changed my friend code to the correct one. I'd appreciate some mail. I'll send mail back don't worry. I'm all for equality. Plus I'd like to get all that secret equipment and the secret job.

Oh yea, thet's right. Sorry, I forgot about evoker's summons sometimes heal you... sorry. But you really don't need an evoker anyway, just go for devout, best healer in the game.

Well, choose devout over sage. Sage's get half the MP at starting out (4 for devout, 8 for summoner, 4 for magus, 2 for sage) and you're not going to be wanting to use up your 8th level spell to deal a fair amount of damage (which a ninja could do easy), you'll want to use it to revive fallen members.

EDIT: Plus, Sage's have the lowest speed in the game, they'll always go last.

See, the summons are random effects when used with a sage, so they're not that good at all. Best going with godlike summons now, if you plan on killing the iron giant like I did. It takes a lot of power leveling and time, but it's worth it. He's the hardest boss I've ever faced in a game.

Hmm lightshade I've faced harder bosses in other RPGs. Not to be off topic, but have you ever played Digital Devil saga before? The secret boss in that game has to be one of the most hardest bosses in a RPG to ever be created. Now I'm forced to max out my characters stats to EVEN just stand a chance against him. Which is going to take me days....urgh.
I got you signed up Dyce. =3
Sorry for being off topic...

Sorry to go off topic, but I haven't played that game, I heard nothing but good things from it, so I really should check it out.

Anyway, by far, the best class is the summoner, or the onion knight, which ever you use first, as they both can use the almighty bahamut to obliterate everything and they get very good speed and MP.

Because there's this thing about Sending and Recieving mail. I think one person has to send and the other recieve at the same time in order for it to work. I wanna know your timezone so we can figure this out.

I live in EST. It's 3:36PM here. I don't know where you live so tell me and then we can figure the rest out.

Why can't SquareEnix ever make things easy? Everything's a fvcking Quest to them.

I don't understand why the DS gets a full 3D remake, but PSP only gets ports with updated sprites. You'd think it would be the other way around.

Well, the PSP is getting FFVII: Crisis Core, so that's something.

But I'm not really surprised that the DS is getting most of the Square love. Let's face it, the DS is mopping the floor with the PSP in terms of sales. This also explains why Dragon Quest XI (Square's biggest series inside Japan) is coming exclusively to the DS, and not the PS2 as many people expected.
