File Size Limitations in 3.6 Homebrew? (old problem fixed, new problem)

Recently my build has started crashing (beep of death) right when I select "FIGHT" in the Brawl menu. It's hard to deduce what could be causing it because it's just tied to selecting "FIGHT" as opposed to a certain character or something.

Anyway, I see a lot of conflicting info out there about file size limitations so I was just wondering. What are they? Could the be causing this? I'm using a 16gb SD card (only using up about 2gb of it) and booting through the Homebrew Channel. Project M 3.6b by the way.

EDIT: Turns out it was definitely a file size problem with my sc_selcharacter.pac file. I opened it up in Brawl Box and many of the CSPs were listed as RGB instead of CMPR. Once I dropped all of the RGB portraits down to CMPR, the file size dropped by about 4-500 kb and the character select screen opened up just fine.

I now I have a new problem though, which I may make a new thread for.

My Stage select screen makes the menu music cut out for about 1-2 seconds (doesn't matter which song) now while I'm browsing stages. And once I select a stage, it takes about 4-5 seconds to to actually make the confirmation sound effect and then load it. Could this be a file size issue as well?

EDIT EDIT: It appears that the stage select lag issue was an issue on a specific SD card.

Do you have the Vanilla build of Project M? If so, make sure you have gameconfig.txt on the root of your SD.

I mean I have a separate vanilla build on my external, but this is my custom build I've been messing with.

I've definitely got the gameconfig.txt because I'm using the one by Mewtwo2000 that's required for cBliss.
