i am sure you all know that Lucas's dtilt can trip, i figured out that he can trip any character just by barely grazing his shoe on the opposing characters foot. it seems to work everytime i do it. So it must be a spacing requirment.

If someone already posted this then i apologize.

You can trip with any move provided that it only hits their leg. It seems to be a % chance based on their % currently and their weight. I don't know the form of the equation, though. I might just be bored enough to test and derive it today or tomorrow, though.

thats what i thought aswell but it seems for lucas it is a spacing requirement. i can trip anyone at 0% if i am the right distance, try it yourself.

Causes them to trip, huh? What about Air Tripping? If it can cause that to happen, you get a free gimp attack. Great stuff.

I doubt the dtilt could be used to do that. It trips on the ground only from what Ive seen, even if it sweetspots.

I did a very minimal amount of testing today, and basically all it yielded was a ~50% trip for mario at 0% damage for ness, and one closer to 10% for lucas. I'm thinking power of the move factors in, as well as the other variables. I couldn't get lucas's to trip mario reliably, I think that's due to his dtilt being too high to hit the right part of Mario's leg. I'll test with another character tomorrow perhaps.

Speaking of the dtilt, does anyone find themself using this move consistently in their battles? According to GofG's frame data, the move comes out on the 5th frame making it Lucas's second fastest ground attack, second only to his jab. I can see it being useful for shield stabbing, especially for big characters such as DK and Dedede.

I actually can never get within range to do this move effectively. My controller is a little bit loose, making crouching attacks slightly more difficult than other tilts. Usually when I'm close enough to use this move, I just do his AAA combo instead, since I find that even when I trip with this attack, I usually overdo it and un-trip them by doing the move again.

I try to avoid that by doing it slowly. after they trip, i stop and let them have a taste of the stck.
