Introduction:
Well, this is a tad overdue, but better late than never. Hello everyone, for those that don’t know me I am FalconXD and I host a Wi-Fi Sm4sh Wii-U Tournament series called “Fight to the Finish”. The way that Fight to the Finish works is tournaments are split into seasons, a season consists of 15 tournaments and includes two special-themed tournaments in the mix. Each tournament players compete for a spot in the Top 8 where they can earn points for the leader-board, the Top 3 at the end of the season are awarded prizes, this time 1st place gets any Amiibo they want out of a mostly completely inventory, 2nd place gets a $20 E-Shop Card, and 3rd place gets a $5 E-Shop. The purpose of this post will be my wrap-up on the first season, a little bit of detail on the next season, and a post for the leader-board results.
Wrap-Up:
Notes for Season 2:
Season 2 will have some changes from Season 1, but the goal is keeping the same core concept as last season of Fight to the Finish with some tweaks. Starting off I will analyze the results from the tournament survey listed below and see if any rules, chat-rooms or other ideas need changing. While I’m not 100% basing everything on survey results, I will consult with it to see if certain concepts need changing. There could be a change in chat-room, possible change in the tournament time, the leaderboard might get modified for more balanced results, and certain stream policies and other rules might get changed.
In addition, I will also be hosting other tourneys besides Fight to the Finish. These will not be directly related to Fight to the Finish meaning they will not affect the leaderboard nor do you need to play in one series to join the other or vice versa. The overhaul has no set date, but expect Fight To The Finish Season 2 sometime in June. Currently I am still planning so help me out by finishing the survey below if you want to make a difference in how the series runs.

Wrap-Up:
I remember going into Fight to the Finish with minimal experience organizing smash tournaments, except for a few tiny Brawl tournament series I hosted back in 2014. I was surprised at the amount of people interested in the tournament series, I remember the first five tournaments I hosted varied differently in size and the types of competitors, yet generally most of them enjoyed themselves. Then due to certain life commitments, I might have had to wait a while to host some more Fight to the Finish, but after I hosted the remaining ten tournaments where the number of attendees got larger, the action got more intense, and craziness ensued.
Looking back at the experience there are definitely some improvements I could have made. First off, the huge gap in between Fight To The Finish #5 and Fight To The Finish #6 was an issue I could have controlled better which is why I’m doing my best for Season 2 to be one huge stretch of weekly tournaments. When it came to the ruleset I know that some of the rules could be updated (I still love Halberd, come at me), but for the most part I believe the rules sufficed and people enjoyed themselves. Organization wise there are a few decisions I could have fixed, but the general consensus was positive so I believe the organization went swell.
Really though I am grateful for this series since it not only was a new high for my tournaments since ones I hosted backed in 2012, but I also met a lot of new people through them, I appreciate all the attendees regardless of whether you attended all of them or only one. Anyway I know most of the people reading this might have skipped this section or just wanted results so I’ll leave my wrap-up as is and move onto that, but first a quick little blurb about Season 2.
