FF XII discussion

In an effort to make friends and to start a conversation, i wanted to post this discussion about FF XII.

I'm a fan of FF games and such, so when FF XII was coming i was drooling with anticipation. Unfortunately i wasnt really pleased to play it, and as such I never quite finished FF XII. I mean i like the game play and all, but to me it wasn't as great as any other FF game I played,(Granted Square-Enix was trying something new with the battle system, but it was similar to past games.) Just wondering if you guys had a different experience than i did. I am also curious to hear about your thoughts on the game play compared to previous FF titles and other Square-Enix games.

I played and have beaten it. I put about 150 hours into it... was good while it lasted and I liked the ending.
The story was decent but it picked up towards the end.

Also, there are too many ways to abuse that game in terms of gil, equipment etc.

My experience was just the same. I was really anticipating it, but then when I started it, it lacked the charm of the older final fantasy games. It wasn't the battle system that didn't make it for me, it was just the atmosphere and the whole "Lets save the kingdom through politics" idea.

Honestly, I love the Characters and Towns(Rabanastre imo being one of the best Final Fantasy Towns ever) and even the Hunting system, then the main game set in and it just didn't feel right.

It is a good game, but it isn't up to the quality of X or VII
