Me and my brother are still fairly new to the whole competitive scene but are playing hard almost every day!

I openly welcome all your criticism. I can already see a million things I could have done better in both matches, but I know that those of you more knowledgable than me can probably offer some things i hadn't considered.

Don't spam aerials so much. Use shield more. Space better. You were jumping into his attacks a lot. If you had shielded then, you could have punished him for his attacks, not let them punish you. Don't use nair so much aganst doc when he's grounded, it doesn't hit low enough. If you want to use nair, space it well and hit with the second hit right when you are about to hit the grond. When doc is in the air, feel free to use nair all you want, though. Hmm yeah indeed, shield more. A lot more.

Lol. You don't really need to shield much against Doc. Shield grabs tend to not be that great vs Doc as he's too floaty to really capitalize on throws, so if you do shield things, jump out of the shield stun into a fair or wd into a ground attack if you want. If the opponent has poor DI you can fthrow into fair chains or just fsmash at the edge. w/e. Really just use grabs to pressure the Doc to stop camping if they shield too much or remain grounded a lot.

Alternatively, it's easier to bthrow Doc onto platforms for easy tippers.

Go for fairs more than nairs vs aerial Docs, he's ridiculously easy to combo if you just land one, it sets up nicer, and it's easier to fair through pill spam than nair through it. Precision > quantity though. Aerial Docs are swordbait.

I'll do actual commentary later, haven't watched the vids yet.

Video quality leaves something to be desired...

Though I only watched part of the first one, you need to stop coming back over the edge when you get knocked off the stage. Almost always you want to fall and sweet spot the ledge with your double jump, or up+B if your double won't make it. Coming back over the top is just asking for an quick and easy death.

He got hit by dozens of attacks he could have avoided by shielding. And you don't have to always grab out of shield indeed...

Ah, good point. I don't consciously think enough about how my opponent will edgeguard me so i tend to make stupid decisions like that. I will try to sweetspot more. Thanks for the advice!

As for shielding, yes, it is apparent to me from reviewing my games that I play way too agressivley. This is mainly against characters like doc that i _know_ i can combo, so i end up playing foolishly trying to get a hit off. A couple things I need to work on are jc fair out of shield, and wavedash out of shield. I rarely do the latter ever, and it seems pretty good for marth.

Cactuar, give me tips!
