I've seen a lot of competitive discussion here on the Melee board but most general discussion seems to be outdated.

Of the stage list (which Melee has a great list of, IMO), which are your favorite stages?

I think mine would be Fountain of Dreams, Corneria, Pokemon Stadium, Great Bay, Brinstar, and Final Destination. I remember playing on them so much when I was a kid I loved them most at the time. I like a lot of the stages but I just found them to be my favorites.

Battlefield and Yoshi's Story. I always offer to start on Battlefiled in tournament sets. Most of the time, stage striking ends up there anyways, unless my opponent strikes it to troll me. It's the most balanced stage. I like Yoshi's because of Randall. He's silly

Randall is awesome sometimes, he's caused some of the craziest offstage battles from what I've watched.

Yoshi's Story and Big Blue. Yoshi's Story is a really great stage and Big Blue is a really funny stage.

For Tournament/Competitive: Final Destination, Poke Stadium, and Battlefield

For Fun: Onett, Temple, all of the DK stages

I wish I can like Yoshi's Story, too bad Randall always supports my opposition and never me. Plus, I feel like it's too small, therefore I lose a lot in this one.

Competitive: Yoshi's Story. Close quarters is fun, and Randall is always exciting.

Funzies: Definitely Temple and Corneria. We almost never played any other maps back in the day.

Brinstar is my favorite, it has some of the best music in the game too. I also really like Fountain, which might be from all of the characters I have ever mained have been good on that stage.

I love Battlefield so much I always ask if people want to just go there for game 1 in tourneys. Its probably the most neutral stage in the game but those edges are a bit of a nuisance.
