Take the name as you will, but here's how I'm going to interpret it: your favorite and least favorite situations in 1v1 matchups that you have been a part of. Obviously I can't speak for anybody else, but I won't judge anybody for their situations. Still, I feel like I've spoken too long already. Here are mine

Favorite: In an entirely joking matchup between a friend of mine (who doesn't own the game) and myself, I decided to actually use my Marth. He took Samus and quickly discovered her Morph Ball Bombs... which he calls her "bloop"s. Literally the entire battle was me whaling on him while he went "bloop" while using the bombs. It wasn't a contest at all, but it was just so funny that he would take all those hits while just repeatedly saying "bloop". It was just made better when my brother added his Samus to the mix and occasionally did alternate "bloop"s with my friend. Needless to say it was funny.

Least Favorite: There was this one Jigglypuff I was fighting... earlier today, actually. Just a randomly selected lvl9 computer for me to battle just as a punching bag for my Marth. Well, the stupid thing nearly kept me from 4-stocking it with a single roll. I was feeling good about the combo I had going and was about to send it into the air with an f-smash when rolled towards me. I have no idea how the camera for Dreamland 64 is programmed, but when it came super close to me with that roll, the zoom changed a ton and I completely lost my bearings. In desperation, I used my Counter and was able to recover from it, but I swear that the camera almost screwed me over because I blinked.

So, what are your favorite and least favorite situations from battles you've participated in?

Lol, I'm no fan of Sheik either, but I daresay that a CF would struggle a bit more than a Marth would against her. Either way, she's a good job at being a royal pain. If it comes down to characters, I hate having to fight Falco. Dumb lasers have a nasty habit of ruining my combos. Favorite character to fight is a Game & Watch AI. So nooby, it's amusing to see how quickly I can 4-stock it.

Well Saiblade, just hope you never fight me lol. Go Marth or go home.

Personally, Xeylode, I love when people think they're hitting me and I use Marth's counter. Always worth a laugh

Least favorite situation:
1: When on the right ledge of Pokemon Stadium, trying to recover, and that "lip" problem is there.

Favorite situations (2):
1: When a player is knocked down waiting, and another player is standing nearby waiting
2: When a player is shielding on a platform waiting, and another player is below the platform waiting.

:'( I've been getting better at the match-up, but I still hate it with all my heart.

Favorite situations: I love getting a dair to nair as peach while I'm edge guarding, juiciest thing in the world.
Also edge guarding in general when I pull it off is pretty rewarding (I suck at it though lol)

Least favorite: Fighting puff and space animal laser camping. Puff cus all she has to do is space and spam her aerials while I'm desperately trying to pull a turnip, and laser camping (especially falco) because I have no clue how to deal with it. Also fighting hbox was not fun (did that on netplay, never again)

Saiblade, what messes you up against Marth? The combo-ruining Counter, or his dair ruining everybody's day? Personally, I'm kinda afraid of CF's knee. But as a Falco? That's an interesting struggle. I rather thought that overwhelming speed and well-being placed lasers would make it tougher on the Marth.

On a separate note I haven't had the misfortune to fight a good Puff before, but that sounds rough. My Marth's trick is to never give them room to breathe, though I see where A Peach would struggle.

Favorite situation: Grabbed a space animal at 60%, then start a massive combo that ends the stock

Least favorite situation: When I get have an input flub and get 0-deathed.

Input flubs are irritating, especially against fast characters. Gotta love having 0 damage and suddenly be down the edge at anywhere between 50 and 70 against combo-heavy characters.

Favourite situation: Jumping out of shine off-stage and going into a rising dair for a spike.
Least favourite situation: When people meteor cancel my Marth's Dair. :( Sometimes I hate PAL

Oh trust me, it is. It only works because Yoshi is almost entirely immune to hitstun while ascending on his second jump. If you hit him, an immediate aerial attack is possible and he still makes it up. Try dairing a Yoshi AI, you'll see what I mean. (though it is fun to force the Yoshi SD)

Unless the move hits Yoshi up (knee, Falco shine, etc.), he is immune to getting hit out of second jump.

What are you guys talking about?

There are moves that can knock Yoshi out of DJ starting at 0% and almost any move including Marth's Dair or any meteor/spike can at higher percents. Falcon's knee for instance can knock out starting at 45%, Zelda's kicks at 30%, etc.

Also fun fact people call it "super armor" but it in the coding he's just given an insanely high weight during DJ until a KB threshold is broken.

I thought it was based on the direction, not KB... Oh well, thanks for the correction!

Aw no I wasn't directing it at you, you were right about Falco's Shine, etc

Ever since AmSa I've noticed this newfound fear of Yoshi, and what comes with it is this fear of his DJ armor. People tend to forget that even high level players can be ignorant about a MU, and that seems to have spread downward. I remember getting so frustrated watching that set with M2K where AmSa is just rolling around in his egg shield on FD for like 20 seconds.....FREAKING JUST GRAB HIM M2K! YOSHI CAN'T EVEN JUMP OoS AND HE HAS NO OoS OPTIONS BESIDES HIS LAGGY CRAP TONGUE GRAB lol

Sorry that was a bit of a rant. I've always agreed that Yoshi should be a bit higher, but man people putting Yoshi in the highest A tier now because of one guy and a couple of showings....they don't realize how easy he is to beat once you know the MU. Sadly if Yoshi does become more common now his MU weaknesses will catch up with him and people will again realize that Yoshi is pretty much where he belongs.

Lol. Fox edgeguards are fun! I especially love standing at the edge when he's forced into an up+B recovery and using Counter. Has a huge KO chance and a simple fair could take him out if it doesn't.

In regards to Yoshi, thanks everybody. But Marth dairs don't knock him out of it for a while. 70% isn't enough...

Least favorite situations:
Being chain grabbed by IC's. I don't mind being wobbled that much because at least I know there's no way out.

Missing a tech chase anything on a spacy after I read them properly as Falcon.

Also being down thrown by Marth as Falco.

Favorite:
Comboing Falcon as Falco

Aw, can't stand the irony of a Marth down throwing a Falco?

I forgot about this one when I posted earlier but here's probably my least favorite thing that ever happened to me in smash:

I move in to my dorm and start talking to my neighbor. Eventually I find out he also really likes smash and would love to play with my roomate and I, and that he mains Meta Knight.

Fighting on fountain of dreams in general is my least favorite situation.

Fighting spacies that can't properly escape chaingrab is my favorite situation.
