Hey guys!

I spent the last month or so working on my custom build using 3.6b like an idiot because I'm impatient. Now 3.6 final is out and I want to know what the fastest way to transfer my content over from 3.6b to 3.6 would be. I used the ASL and cBliss tools and man what a struggle that was, but I'm guessing that I'm just going to have to do everything manually?

Any tips on how you all have done this in the past?

Was anything in the GCT even changed besides the new alt stages they added? I temporarily swapped in the old 3.6beta GCT into my custom build and didn't notice any major issues.

You will have the proper stage files and module files ready for ASL and the BPs, CSPs, Stock Icons and Skins ready for Cbliss. The only thing you would have to do is edit the code manually (re-add alt stages/modules, Cbliss) and transfer the correct files from your old 3.6b build to your new 3.6 build. You should be good to copy paste your old stages/melee folder and the stage modules from your old build, and since I believe how the cBliss tool works is that it overrides PM's costume expansion code with a different code, you should be able to copy paste the info/portrite folder containing the BPs,copy paste the sc_selcharacter.pac and sc_selcharacter2.pac from the menu2 folder and copy paste the project/pf/menu/common/char_bust_tex and copy paste the info.pac file from the info2 folder. And you would also have to copy paste the skins from the fighter folder (not the fit____motionetc.pac) I could be forgetting some other things that is necessary to copy paste over but in the end you won't have to do everything from scratch.

Btw, on your old build, were you able to get cBliss fully working?

Yes, I was able to get cBliss fully working. Not every one of my characters has 10 costumes or anything, but most have that or close. It took a lot of trial and error though.

I know that COULD copy paste a lot of these things, but it seems that some stages were added and moved around in 3.6, particularly alternates, and since I have at least 3 alternate stages on every slot in my current build, I'll need to account for that. Thank you for all the tips! I'm pretty sure I knew all of this, but it'll be much easier to refer to this so that I don't forget anything.

i believe a few bug fixes resulted in changes. not too sure.
That's what I was afraid of... Looks like I've got a fun time ahead of me reinputting everything into the ASL and cBliss tools. Pray for me everyone. I'll definitely give your music software a shot though. Seems nice!

I'm honestly considering just not using cBliss due to all the problems I had with it last time and how unstable it made single player (?). Still... All those costumes...

Don't forget, on the official site the PMDT put up a change list so you can see exactly what was changed. If you did a lot of stage swaps I would recommend just taking the new stuff out of the official release and implementing them into your build manually. It sounds like you changed a hell of a lot more than they did.

Yeah. I added over 100 stages. Kind of combed through the best that I could find. My thing is that I still want my build to have that Project M feel to it so if they add a certain layout to the stages that they think is best, I'd like to work around that. Stupid I know, but I'm a perfectionist like that...

Nice avatar btw. The lack of a Wart skin for Bowser makes me </3
