Watch Zero Suit Samus in the last clip of the Nintendo World Trailer before the end (before fox). The last thing she does looks like a fast fall, but uh.... not really. Any thoughts?

yeah, she acts like sheik, so why not give her sheiks weight/fall speed? Why would you think FF'ing was nerfed by watching one character fall slowly in a video....? You also assume the players testing the game and being recorded use FF'ing as fluently as someone at the pro level.

Yeah... you can't really draw any conclusions from that clip.

She might not be a fast faller or the person playing isn't using fast falling. It was in the first 2 game so I don't see why they should take it out.

lol fast falling isn't an advanced tech

and yeah fall speed might get reduced if Sakurai talked about reducing the overall speed of the game
you get what i mean though, it's not something a casual player tends to be aware of. THey don't show off that kind of stuff in trailers.

And Sakurai never said he would slow it down, e said moderated, which everyone assumes means he's slowing it down.

That's because he replied to someone who said the game was too fast (or something like that) saying that the speed would be moderated.

Too fast O.o Lightning melee is TOO fast, and even on that mode I can still shffl, mindgame, wavedashi, do all my techs consistently. Its recovery that I find hard since you fall so **** fast.

I dont think fast falling will be nerfed or taken out of the game. Very unlikely and that clip proves nothing.

I didn't mean they were going to remove it. I was saying it looks like she fast-falls, but with a short pause before it happens. This could be one of the ways that the game's speed is going to be moderated.

Also, if fast-falling is an advanced technique, then so is rolling and teching, both of which are showin in that video as well.

ALSO, I think ground teching might be nerfed as well. We see a clip where Pit is fighting Snake (during Snake's little part), where Pit looks like he techs, but he's still lying on the ground.

Again, another way to moderate the speed of the game.

The fact that there's a pause and that she's obviously kicking makes me think it's an attack. Also, since she doesn't produce smoke when she lands (no smoke at all; IE neither the A attack/landslidespecial smoke or the free fall smoke) makes it look like a non-proning B move...though one of her attacks in the six-second montage clip doesn't either.

No one ever techs in the trailers.

He doesn't tech. Pit lands on the ground from a tumble (caused by Snakes up tilt A), is lying there for a split second, then just plain stands up from lying there like when you hit up, X, Y, or let yourself lay there long enough that you stand up. Granted, he does get up faster than we're used to and his collision with the ground graphic has an orange tint at one point but, if you look at it frame by frame, it's pretty obvious.

Behind you.
The thing you're referring to looks more like a Down B. Even if we're not thinking of the same thing, you probably can't draw conclusions based on one character in a pre-release trailer.

So, basically what everyone else said.

Down B move, definitely. She changes her pose when she does it, and no fast fall ever does that!

Fast fall is just that, a fast fall. No reason to change it, not even to make things "simpler", because it wouldnt...

Talking about Zamus, not normal Samus

Plus, the downward kick that Zero-Suit Samus did sent her straight downward; Capt. Falcon's Falcon Kick goes down at a slant.
Yoshi's Down B goes straight down.
