Hi,

I believe this is the correct forum for this post, sorry if I'm wrong. The other day my friends and I came up with what seems like a pretty cool idea. We want to play fantasy smash, like other fantasy sports. We got a rough idea of scorekeeping last night, but it can use work. Basically:

Action | Pts
Kill 1
Death -1
Edge -1*
Hammer -1**
Name Chant 1
Pokeball 1***
Special 1****

(Some of these are left to discretion)

I don't have the sheet in front of me, so I may have forgotten some. I will post whatever else I forgot. Basically the base kill score is the Kill you see up there, which is 1. You add to this for every kill. So a kill using a pokeball would be 2 pts. Or a kill using a hammer would be -1 pt. There is no penalty for suicides, but dying always results in a -1. A few notes:

*Edging consists of killing someone by standing right on the edge and keeping them from getting back on the stage. I.E. Pickachu using his down B as someone is trying to land. While it is left to discretion, the basic idea is that he's giving the other player a fair chance. Don't count it as edging if it wasn't intentional. I.E. the player was fighting another player and you happened to get hit by it.

**Hammers are pretty simple, if a kill is made with a hammer.

***Pokeball kill is ONLY if the pokemon kills the player. Throwing the pokeball at the player and killing him DOES NOT constitute a Pokeball kill.

****Only select characters have special kills. They are as follows:
Luigi's UP B
Ness' PK Thunder
Jigglypuff's Quick sleep or DOWN B
I may have forgotten one, but basically classified as kills that were made using a 'hard to use' move.

Each player has a handicap based on skill. The handicaps aren't set in the game, but they are set in the fantasy league. The best players being 1's and subsequent players having higher handicaps through 5. When a fantasy contestant picks a player, and their player wins the actual match, they are given the handicap on top of their final score. I.E. final match score for a handicap 3 player was 3. You would get 6 pts for that because you picked an unlikely player to win.

The part that I'm probably gonna need help on, aside from developing the score, is just how to run the game. What we've been doing is before each round each fantasy contestant picks one of the participating players. Two contestants can't pick the same player (I'd like to change this part but can think of no good system). We would like for everyone to be able to participate in the fantasy league, so they can play the game and participate in the league without having the power to affect the fantasy outcome too much. I haven't been able to think of a way to do this. I'll probably add more to this, cause I know I've forgotten some, but that's the rough outline. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this game more interesting/better?

I just remembered. An easy way for keeping score is to just keep track of criteria. Like the various kill methods (hammer, pokeball, edge, special) used and deaths. This score plus the kill score you are given at the end screen should add up to an accurate score.
