THIS GAME IS GOING TO BE GREAT! When I heard that Black Isles shut down a piece of me died inside. I felt like there was no hope without another Falout game. But now, especially sice Bethesda is making the game, I can only hope for the most immersive Fallout yet. I wonder what direction they will take it. We aill have to wait for more news, unfortunately =(.

This belongs in the Lighthouse, but other than that;

Bethseda had better not mess this up or I will hunt down there project manager for desecrating my favorite PCRPG of all time.

what are you talking about...it's a little over a year...then again...my definition of close is much different then a normal person's (I waited for a online game to have all the bugs worked out...scheduled Nov. 2005 didn't get fully released till May 2006 and even then they forgot stuff).

Bethseda had better not mess this up or I will hunt down there project manager for desecrating my favorite PCRPG of all time.
I have trust in Bethseda...They gave me Mirrowind... But if they stray too far from Interplay and Black Isle's original work I will be pissed as hell...and probably get over it but not before a huge rant

I agree, Bethesda better not screw up on fallout 3. My opinion, they better not make it third person like morrowind or first person like Oblivion. They should leave the top down view. Otherwise they will have to cancel further production on fallout. no fallout 4. :'(

I completely disagree with two simple words: Metroid Prime. They can pull it off in either first or third person, but they are really going to have to work at it. And if they don't, then I'm going to have to kill some people. *shrugs*

This is where most of your worries or doubts come to an end.

Everything said here is logical and stable.

Seems some people got their magazine and shared them with us.

Here they are:

- Game runs on an evolved version of the Oblivion engine. Third person view has been reworked since the verdict was that the Oblivion version was bad.

- Game starts with your birth and your mother's death in a vault hospital. This is essentially the character customization part of the game. Your father hands you up to have your DNA analyzed and you get to pick out all your character traits. Your dad takes off his mask to reveal similar traits to the ones you picked.

- You grow up in the vault and as you grow you get your first book titled "You're Special" which allows you to choose you baseline stats for each of your 7 primary aptitudes. You'll also get your first weapons and wrist computer (menu) as you get older and take tests to determine the initial layout of your skills and traits.

- Every aspect of character creation is based on S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system. Of your 14 skills you can tag 3 to grow at a faster rate than the rest as you level up.

- Battle system is called the Vault-tec Assisted Targeting System (V.A.T.S.). The article states. "While you'll certainly be able to tackle enemies in real time using first person shooting, V.A.T.S. lets players pause time and select a target at their leisure". Battle system still uses action points, but once you've used them up you'll still be able to fight targets in real time while they charge back up.

- Game is still violent and gory. One of the featured screens is of a guy's head exploding in super gory detail. Apparently all gory deaths in the game will be in slow motion.

- More than one way to play the game. Go balls out and kill people, or sneak past situations, or perhaps talk your way out of situations.

- Enemies can target you just like you can target them, so you can get injured in very specific points on you body. This in addition to an all new health/radiation system. This new system has you measuring how radiated certain things (like water) are and how they affect you when you consume them.

- Karma system returns

- The game does not scale like oblivion, so if you enter a high level area expect to be promptly murdered.
- Level cap is 20.

- Definite ending to the game, but there are 9 - 12 possible endings.
- There are NPC's you can hire, but this is not a party based game.
I confirm the above mentioned specifications.
They are all based upon the interview among GameInformer Magazine

I take full responsibility

Apparently bethseda is taking it away from the traditional style of play...but I'm still buying it

Don't worry, Deus Ex 2 sucked on PC as well. Project Snowblind was it's unofficial sequel to that game.

However, with the rejuvenation of Fallout 3, Myst Online, and a few other titles, look for Deus Ex to be rebuilt supposedly.

This game sounds incredibly awesome. Reading about it in Game Informer and seeing actual game screens, and not just the reveal video released a while back was reassuring as well for how pretty the game will be. Nice to hear they're fixing the third person combat, though I'll stick with first person as I find it more immersing.

NEW FALLOUT 3 INFO!!!

The cover story of the April Issue of Xbox Mag features Fallout 3. The OXM podcacst has an interview with the director of the game. He talks about how large the game is (over 200 ending variations). He also talks more about NPC's and Dogmeat! Check it out if you are a fan of the games. Fallout may be my favorite game ever and will be the reason I buy an Xbox 360.

Still on track for a Fall 08 release!

This is from Joystiq.com page 3:

Did you know that it was scientifically possible to desire Fallout 3 more than you already do? We didn't until this morning when we saw the (unconfirmed by Bethesda) listing for the collector's edition of it at Gamestop. For $70, you'll get a Vault Boy Bobblehead doll, a hardcover book of art and a behind-the-scenes DVD. Oh, and the whole thing comes in a metal Vault-Tec lunch box. Yes. Please.

There's also a date for the game of October 7, but that could just be an estimate. As far as we're concerned (thanks in part to today's announcement) the official date for Fallout 3 is "Not even close to soon enough."

This is another game I'm really excited for.

I'm interested in purchasing the LE. Something about that bobble head just makes me want to spend 80 bucks. Although, the MGS4 LE has pretty much stripped me of money ATM. =(

I love Fallout 3, it is incredible, a excellent mixture of RPG/Shooting game, the gameplay of Fallout 3 beats Mass Effect, I was gonna say, it is the best shooting game what I've ever seen.

I saw that game before on G4 channel, it is cool, and incredible. Character creation, level-up, choose what your character would be, and everything.

I can't wait to play Fallout 3, I mean, it is incredible.
