falling out of sync a common problem?

been searching these forums and google without to much luck.

is it common to fall out of sync after a round?

me and my friend play quite often and it seems after a round we fall out of sync. usually found when you see the other person just run off the screen. we are using pj64k and doing p2p. we see pings as low as 15 and it plays really smooth. just keeps getting out of sync.

so is this just the way things are? and we just keep restarting after a round or 2, or are we missing something?

You definitely shouldn't be desynching that often. Every 7-12 rounds or so would probably be about normal.

Try using Ownasaurus' P2P client and adding an extra frame of delay if you can bear it. If gameplay is already smooth, then I'm not sure if it'll help, but it's worth trying.

i have no clue why is that...but house has the theory that it may be caused for diference tipes of windos....i have xp...he has vista....i really dont know.

Maybe its not the emu, but your internet connection, or all your PC. try a cleanup and check your connection.

www.speedtest.net - use this for bandwidth test (some terrible connections cant handle online play)

www.pingtest.net - use this for latency test and for your connection quality (if this test is bad then its the case of your desynchs)

I use Jabo's Direct3D6 1.5.2 (not regular Jabo's Direct3D6)

and No Sound plugin

or Azimer's Audio v0.30 (Old Driver) if I wanna hear sound

I DS more often if I use

rice video/glide64 and/or Azimer's HLE Audio v0.56 WIP 2/Jabo's DirectSound 1.6/zilmar's Audio Plugin

I can use Jabo3D7 or 3D8 but I don't cuz they can crash my comp

we first would DS when my friend would full screen, so he stopped that.
