Hey there, so I play smash in a small competitive community (although not the greater competitive community) and I (playing as Marth) am having trouble with a guy who plays Falcon. So in my approach I tend to jump into the air to limit his options for assault and my opponent shields waiting for me to touch the ground so he can shield grab me. I have the potential for losing ground by retreating (running short hop knee, I air dodge, possibly on a platform, he follows with uair and I am able to be combo'd) and I want to keep pressure on my opponent. So what I usually do is use my second jump to jump over my opponent and use dair and lcancel when he breaks out of his shield, followed by a wavedash (back so I can tip) with an fsmash. The problem is my opponent short hop bairs and follows up wih a combo that brings me off the edge and possibly to death. I can only think of altering my approach, but as a Marth I feel pressure is incredibly important in characters that are not Jigglypuff, so perhaps some of you could advise me on a course of action that will allow me to pressure my opponent without getting bair'd or grabbed.
