Hello

I've been doing something by accident a few times now but today I found out how I did it so I made a video to show you guys what I mean.

In the video I'm running around, jump, moonwalk and hang on the edge.
But. When you jump on the very end and preform a quick moonwalk there, you instantly hang on the edge. You will see a lot of failed attempts, I'm not a pro, but you can see what I'm getting at.
Also there are a few tries where I end up standing still, turn around and grab the ledge as if you would walk off and turn around.

The video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWA5Tkt10Vg

I have just installed the ****ty pinnacle software for my dazzle and I haven't gotten the time to adjust all the settings. So inb4 "quality sucks".

Lemme hear what you guys think.

EDIT* I don't mean just the pivot edge hog. Best example is the first one.

I do this by accident sometimes too, but have never thought of using it purposefully lol.

i cant moonwalk so this doesnt interest me :p
you don't need to moonwalk, unless the moon walk was supposed to be the focus of the video.

What's happening is just a pivot edge hog, or so it appears. You're getting lots of momentum from his run/jump and then when you land you're turning around, but still sliding from your previous momentum, so you slide off and catch the edge. You're just replacing the walk/run in the edge hog with a running jump for the momentum. Which is sexy, because it means you can can do a pivot edge hog but with running momentum.

edit: just saw your thing about "not meaning the pivot edge hog" except that the first one IS a pivot hog.

It seems quick because you're hitting left for the moonwalk input, which makes you turn around, and then sliding to down as you fall off, making you fastfall, and then hitting back so you don't fall past the edge. So the moonwalk input is causing that, even though you aren't moonwalking. You could just hit in then down then let go of the stick and it would still work. I'll try it later today and put up a video.

I see. But since I'm only able to do it as fast as the first, is by making the moonwalk motion very quickly. If I just pivot normally it is much slower.

I'm looking forward to your video

Its actually more like a PC drop, as you retain your forward momentum when landing but still turn around.. a pivot drop is when you drop out of a dash dance by hitting inwards during the initial dash animation (so you empty pivot) just as you are about to fall off the stage, this is like a variant on the PC as instead of walking then turning, you are turning in your landing animation

you mean that you just land, turn around and slide off in the momentum?
That happens in the second attempt. The first one in the video was (in my eyes) perfectly done.
I did the moonwalk input as quickly as I could the moment I landed. As far as I know you need that input (or maybe something similar) to do it that quickly, unless proven otherwise.

This is what he does in the first attempt in the video, although if you land further from the edge you have to do a moonwalk afterwards, however even if you do the moonwalk when you are right next to the edge its okay as the turn will be registered and holding towards the edge helps you retain your momentum.

Basically you are best off landing then going into a moonwalk, this covers all of your bases

EDIT: its hard to prove but the button input should always be the same (look up one like)
