umm. is it even possible to waveshine with ur analog stick? lol. u have to be pointing ur analog stick in a diagonal down to the left or right, i don't see how u can push jump fast enough to waveshine.

just learn how to shorthop/ use the freaken X or y button..its there for a reason.

eh, honestly i dunno how every1 jumps with x/y its seems so difficult... But ppl think that me using the analog stick is weird. And i can kinda do the waveshine. i do it sometimes as i said before 3/10 times. Also please no more " switch to x/y button" answers. Thanks neWAYZ

Using the control stick to jump throws off aiming for quick aerials.

Anyways, I don't even main fox or falco and I learnt how to waveshine quickly. I learnt by going on training mode and starting from 1/4 time and going up after I mastered it at a certain time. It would probably work with someone who uses the control stick too, another way is to just practice controlling it properly.

Honestly, you need to use the X or Y button if you plan on playing at anything close to a competetive level. There are just too many downsides to using the analog stick. It's too much quick motion for your thumb, and you can't DI while jumping, or smashing, or doing aerials, or anything. Years ago, I used the analog stick to jump as well, but I made the change because, well it's absolutely necessary. I apologize for giving you another X/Y answer, but I really can't stress this enough. You need to use the jump buttons, at least for waveshining and SHFFLC-ing.

I would switch to x/y...

Changing your physical methods for advanced techs is worth it in my opinion. Going from shielding, wavedashing, L-cancelling, and roll/teching all on the index along with all A&B attacks + Y-jumps on thumb to "The Claw" is possible within a month. You'll also feel LOTS more comfortable picking up new characters and getting advanced with them.

Don't switch, jumping with control stick has perks.
How do I know? Because I too jump with the control stick and don't like X or Y.
But, on topic, here is what I do to waveshine successfully.
B-Down, Up, diagonally up and left or up and right, L.
Pretty easy for me, hope that helps.

Erm, if you're pointing the control stick diagonally up won't you just air dodge into the air O.o?

I personally use the x/y buttons to jump. Try doing it all after another. It won't be clean, but it will still work!
