Hey guys, I've been experiencing some trouble when fighting Marth with Falco. I usually have trouble finding the optimal approach option, because I usually end up getting tipper FSmashed :(. Another problem I've been having is that my lasers or my aerials are getting countered. How can I avoid getting hit by counter or tipper moves? Do I laser into dashdance to throw off my opponent? Or do I wait for Marth to approach me and hit him with an Anti-Air? Aside from approaches, I keep getting edgegaurded super hard. What are the best ways to recover in certain situations?

For your first problem, it sounds like you need to play more defensively or mix up your approaches if you keep getting stuffed. keep in mind there is almost never an "optimal" approach, just some good ones (laser, nair, dair, bair, Utilt etc.), some situational ones (dash attack, shine, tomahawk etc) and some that you can use like once a set (fair, smash attacks, etc.). If he counters your laser from mid range, you'll have a free punish, and you can fast fall early occasionally to "fire a blank" and make the laser sound without firing, which can bait out a counter, which can let you charge a smash attack at close range. Throw in some tomahawks to bait the counter/throw him off. Do low aerials so he won't be able to see it coming and can't tell if you'll go for an aerial or a tomahawk. It sounds like you're being predictable, so just mix it up.

As for being edge guarded, that's the life of a falco. All I can say is learn to how to ledge tech, shorten your side-b, and practice control of your Up-B angles/sweetspots. Make it ambiguous as to whether you'll sweetspot or land on stage if recovering low. And mix in platforms if applicable.
