Falco Double Laser Question

What are some ways to deal with double laser from the ledge? I play a lot of Falcos and I am good at knowing when they are going to jump up from the ledge. I feel very miffed when I can call out what they’re going to do but I can’t punish it. I’ve tried timing a Ftilt to get them but usually they are still invincible and it’s too late by the time the laser hits. I try to Ftilt after, which sometimes gets them but is slow and can be shielded. I can hard read them with a missile but that is slow and can be predictable.

I read one of the posted threads that Samus’s main options are missile, crouch jab, and Up-B. Is there timing for an ftilt too tight for it to work or is it only probable if they aren’t invincible? Would crouching/CC the laser into D-tilt work? Are there any other obvious counters I am missing?

Yes, the most obvious one of just ignoring the lasers. If you can 100% call it out, roll towards ledge and ftilt towards the dumbass falco that just lasered past you. You can waveland backwards off the plats into a falling nair to catch him on the way up to do the lasers. If you just cant keep up with the falco on the ledge, just back the hell off and let him come to you... what does the falco do after the lasers... can you punish it? Think outside the box of im stuck here and think backwards and fowards of what you could do instead

I like the nair/bair off the platform. Usually the Falcos don't do much off it and if shield I don't think there is much they can do. The rolling is pretty interesting. It seems like it could be very unsafe but it also could lead to a downsmash or something.

Also that's a good point about the mentality I had toward it. I agree that it is better to think around the problem rather than on it.

well, thinking _on_ it isn't that bad either. You can try powershielding the lasers, or you can crouch -> jab / ftilt / dtilt / dsmash (you don't get the ASDI down benefit but you do get reduced hitstun from crouching), or you can shield lasers -> upb (if you're at this range, Falcos often like to ledgehop double laser -> shine, but if you shield the shine / react to the lack of shine?? it's a free upb). Keep in mind that Falco can still be intangible during the first laser if he does it correctly.

Still, Barbie's "just don't deal with that crap" method can be good too, especially if the Falco isn't ready for your tricks.
