Fake Pokemon game at work

I work at Gamestop and while I was looking through GBA games for a guest I noticed there was a fake Ruby cartridge in the case. I took it out and played it and the ROM intro had all sorts of swears and stuff. My manager on duty and I had a good laugh about how obviously fake it was (gray cartridge, blurry Nintendo seal, wrong font) and still got traded in, by a dishonest (or uninformed) parent.

Oh, that's it? That's nothing. When I was in Mexico, a game-trading store that I visited with my cousin had more than 5 different GBA hacks. There was Diamond (a FireRed hack with Suicune on the start screen, the story progression of Crystal Version, and totally mixed-up Pokemon), Chaos Black (with Sonic's Chaos on the cover, no less), a version with the kid from Gale of Darkness on the cover, and several more, some in broken Spanish, most with no Seal at all.

My cousin never found a single authentic game there...

Ha that's funny.
I just would've thought it was obvious enough to not get taken in. I don't know what store you went to, but I know Gamestop doesn't accept counterfeits.

Well, it's not too surprising to see a fake game. But a fake one in Gamestop is surprising. Again, I have seen a FireRed hack too.

I love these pokehacks. My friend came back from the Philippines with a couple pokemon quartz and sold me one. It's pretty funny to play with random characters swearing, but the horribly broken grammar can be a headache.

Start up screen:

I have no freaking idea what it is 'cause I've only gotten to like the 3rd badge. Maybe an anorexic Rayquaza sprite...?

yeah, the people swearing actually made the game better. i shudder to say this, but some of the plots and dialogue are way way better in the hacks. for me, it was more fun to play them than the original. only thing is, the nintendo sprites are usually better
