*FAKE?* Amiibo Wave 4

I haven't seen this discussed anywhere on the forum so far.

Originated from GameFAQ's; being written of as a fake by almost everyone.

I mean, why would someone waste time faking this? It seems like it would take an insane amount of effort, but even that still doesn't discount the possibility of it being fake.

The more I look at it, the more it seems fake though. Ness looks more like a render than an actual figure and G&W uses his Brawl model (it does look more well-balanced though), though he does look like paper and I don't understand the need for the clear pole supporting him (maybe because he's so thin). Dark Pit is looking good; honestly the only thing that kills it is that Ness just looks his render copy and pasted.


We could use an official, 'stickied' Amiibo thread too.

I think they had to smush him down cause he is so stretched out in his pose, bigger than the base. Nintendo really should have felt free to not be obligated to go by the official character art and just do what looks best.

The only reason they're saying it's fake is because it came from GameFAQ's.

I know, but even if that isn't the real Greninja figure, in the real one his feet will be off the base. There is no way he will fit on the base using that artwork. This pose would be ideal:

Proof that it's fake:

Game & Watch's "Amiibo" is his Brawl artwork pose and model (even though the case has his actual Sm4sh art right on it).

Also the huge contrast in quality (Greninja's and Pac-man's look like a 5 year old made them out of clay while Lucina and Ness look like they just took the official art and put them through filters to give them a shine) gives it away as well.

The main reason I thought these weren't legit was that Dark Pit, Game and Watch and Lucina, aka the unlockables in both games, are here prior to the likes of Charizard, a starter in both games. Weird logic I know, but I'm guessing they're saving the unlockables for the last wave of Smash amiibos.

It's very obviously fake, Ness is his artwork, Dark Pit and Lucina are based on pre-existing figures, Mr. Game &Watch is a papercraft based on his Brawl artwork, and Pac-Man and Greninja are clay.

Also, that Pac-Man is ugly and deformed. I doubt Namco would alloy Nintendo to make poor-quality figures of their character.

Pac-Man looks way to off model, even for an Amiibo. His material (along with greninja) doesn't look right either as Kenith said, they look like they're made of clay. Ness is copy paste, so is Greninja (but photoshopped a bit, also his hand is sinking in front of the trophy base).

Actually, this would be Wave 4 here, and Wave 3 in Japan, since Wave 1 and 2 are the same thing over there (we got the game earlier and our Wave 1 earlier).

I think that is the original source, but it looks like AEM cracked the code anyway.

Actually, this would be Wave 4 here, and Wave 3 in Japan, since Wave 1 and 2 are the same thing over there (we got the game earlier and our Wave 1 earlier).

It's Wave 5 in Europe, since we have a wave in January and another in February.

Also, I imagine the real Wave 5 to have Robin and Olimar etc, as opposed to unlockable characters and clones.

Let us just say that despite not being a Ness fan, if that Amiibo was real, I would buy that **** up. He looks amazing and honestly, it is hard finding high quality Amiibos. Fox is the only one that I really believe is up to snuff, that was only after seeing him in person too.
