Smash Journeyman
I've tried and tried, and can barley do it at all. Every attempt is a full shine animation, or a changed direction after shine.
Anytips on how to do this?

That's what I wanted to know. >_> They're two totally different things.do you mean like shine and turn the other direction or waveshine backwards?
Can you do a forwards waveshine...?I see i'll try this, ill come back with my progress.
Yeah, it is for me too. It's pretty weird, because normally, forward wavedashes and backwards wavedashes are about the same to perform, but when you do them out of a shine, backwards waveshines throw you off. =/waveshining forward is easier then backwards IMO.
Well, I can do a backwards waveshine, but I don't do it as often as my forward waveshines.yah, when I try doing it backwards I end up going forwards XD
If you wanted to work with utilts, you should DI a shffl'd dair behind the opponent, and then either shine > backwards waveshine combo or utilt > uair > bair if the uair doesn't kill them.i'm begging to get it.
They reason I want to learn how to waveshine without changing direction is, when I wave shine I only have the option to, A. Shine again, B. Grab , or C. Upsmash. But with Backwards wave shining which only limits to Shining again and up tilting is a very good way to add up points at low percentages without moving the opponent to far away from the ledge.
Unpredictability is what im always after. The less predicable I am the better chance I have at winning. I think if theres other methods to do something, regardless of how hard it is, you should use it. ( in a cycle )If you wanted to work with utilts, you should DI a shffl'd dair behind the opponent, and then either shine > backwards waveshine combo or utilt > uair > bair if the uair doesn't kill them.
Shffl'd dairs are much easier to do consistently than backwards waveshines. You also have to be VERY careful when using backwards waveshines in battle. If you mess one up and utilt anyway, you'll be facing the wrong way and they might be able to get you into a nasty combo.
This is ment to be done at low percentages, also, even though theres a small majority who this can be used against theres no point in limiting yourself.
Too much DI for the utilt to lead into any great combos. Someone correct me on this if I'm wrong.so so, depends on the situation.
Also fox's backside shine is the strongest. Good at shinespiking.
( Or is that only in the air? )
Aha but still Shine > Back wavedash > FF ( as to not grab ledge ) > Shine spike. The hitbox for the shine is slightly larger in the back, yes. It doesn't matter too much on the ground.
