Sorry, but am I the only one who thinks this needs a remake? Seriously they could add some cool stuff with the new 3DS hardware like:
  1. Better graphics (No duh)
  2. Online races with up to 30 people? (Or maybe just 15? Not sure how many players the 3DS can handle in one match)
  3. Add custom machines from the expansion kit
  4. New parts for custom machines
  5. Sharing new parts through streetpass
  6. Add the track editor from the expansion kit.
  7. Add a way to share custom tracks through the internet.
  8. Add the Super Falcon, Super Cat, and the Super Stingray as unlockable machines.
  9. Maybe some pilots from the anime, not to sure if that should be done or not since the anime is a spin-off series.
Seriously, this game was awesome it's a shame that most of it's cool features are limited by failure addons.

I haven't played F-Zero X (I'll eventually get to it though!). But regardless, I just want more F-Zero in general.

So I guess for me, it doesn't matter for me too much. I'd just like to see a revival of some sort.

Pretty much that. I have played F-Zero X, and while I personally prefer GX I wouldn't mind seeing another portable F-Zero. Or any F-Zero at that.

Personally, I'd rather it be a brand new title instead of an updated port of a seventeen-year-old game.

Looking at how messed up my N64 control stick is from playing so much F-Zero and Star Fox, I shudder to think what my Circle Pad would have to suffer through with a 3DS F-Zero. In addition, the game would have to have really good optimization and still would barely look as good as GX (as GX was one of the best-looking GC games and the 3DS is a bit weaker than the GC).

Honestly, I want it to go on the Wii U and have support for the GameCube adapter so I can easily replace or repair the controller if it breaks and it would have, in my opinion, superior controls to the 3DS version. Also, the build quality of Nintendo products 14 years ago is much better than it is now, so my controller would also last much longer than my 3DS under rigorous playing conditions. If we were to actually get a new console F-Zero, I would be happy for another 5 years (although another 11-12 would be stretching it).

Nah, we need F-Zero GX 3D so we can really screw our 3DSes over.

I tend to prefer X. It seems like the logical extension from the SNES original in terms of sights and sounds, whereas GX is a little too Segafied. Don't get me wrong, GX is great, I just want the series to return to its roots aesthetically. So I'd love an updated remake of X.

A 3DS remake would also be a rather low R&D revival that could spur the market for a legitimate new one. And with all the 64DD features plus online track sharing, I'd buy in a heartbeat.

Edit: Also, keep the anime out. The core canon is hard enough to keep up with!

Better X than GX on a 3DS in my opinion. GX on a 3DS sounds more like a complete exercise in masochism - snaking is cramp-inducing enough on a GC controller, let alone a 3DS.

Also, yes, ignore the anime, though I wouldn't refuse the AX pilots if they were added.

3DS does need some good racing titles. I wouldn't want a remake, since we've already got Star Fox 64, LoZ OoT AND MM. They should make an F-Zero for the Wii U before the 3DS or on both consoles like SSB.

I would love to see the AX pilots come back honestly.

I would love a new FZero game. I think that's a fantastic idea. The 3DS ecosystem would be great for it, as you pointed out as well. I have to agree with what people said above though, the analogue stick could be an issue. I would wreck my analogue stick for a new FZero game though, I don't even care, I just want it that bad.

Some of the issues the game had was its lousy visuals, uninspired vehicles, and draw distance, and the fact that most of the tracks did not feel distinct. Also it's possible to just spam the side attack to get random kills, in GX you actually had to try. I think a 3DS remake should make an effort to fix some of these things. But it will obviously have better graphics so that's good.

You mention online play, but failing that leaderboards would be nice too. Especially if we can't have online play. I can only imagine that online would pose problems. 30 humans is probably not possible, especially not for a game this fast. But maybe shortcuts can be taken such as having every person be a ghost like in Trackmania. Online co-op works really well imo, so maybe a mode where as few as 4 players go through the game together (against 26 AI opponents) would be really fun.

Unfortunately this is why a lot of racing games from the N64/PS1/SAT era haven't really aged well. I tried revisiting Twisted Metal 2 a while back and was disappointed to find the game wasn't quite as fun as I remember it being, primarily because it's hard to fight in a combat oriented game like that when you're shooting up post rainy-day Inaba.

Hell, a lot of games from that Era haven't aged well. That was the "puberty" age of gaming in my opinion.

Pretty much. 3D was a brand new concept and developers were still trying to figure out how to make it work. Sure, it was an exciting time to play video games because frankly, until we perfect VR technology, nothing will be as ground breaking and game changing as the endless possibilities 3D brought. But it was still young tech back then. IMO it wasn't until the later half of that era that we started getting games that actually hold up decently.

Ill be honest, I never had any issues with my circle plad when playing smash on the 3DS, I think it's just people being rough with the console.

Mine's pretty beat up after 4 years of average-frequent use.

I think that any game on 3ds would be a good idea. F-Zero has never been a very popular Nintendo franchise.

The 3ds has a much larger player base than WiiU, so introducing a new game to that crowd and then making a WiiU game later makes more financial sense.

THIS. Plus, some speed demons out there might pick it up to try it... and find it awesome! :)

Another thought as well; if F-ZERO was a concept designed to showcase hardware capabilities, (and pushing such hardware to it's playable limits) how come there isn't a 3DS game already? Plus, with the New 3DS' Super Stable 3D, F-ZERO at max speed would be mind-blowing!

My circle pad rubber bit fell off not too long ago... My R-button's also gone half the time. (Still can't believe that breathing into the casing fixes that. :-/)

Didn't know it worked for the 3DS, but that's how I kept my R2 button alive on one of my PS2 controllers alive for quite a few years.

Yep, sure does... classic "magic blow" technique with all Nintendo electronics!

F-Zero X on the 3DS would help the game perfectly in rebranding itself.

Just giving it MK7's online, course creator, special levels like Rainbow Road and Dreamland and amiibos support with :4falcon::4mario::4peach::4bowser::rosalina::4link::4zelda::4samus::4zss::4pit::4fox::4falco::4kirby::4metaknight:&:4shulk:
