I live in Texas and I want to get a job at Kroger or something like that. And I was wanting to know what % they take out of ur paycheck for taxes? Serious answers please...

It's not a LOT, but you won't take home everything you actually make. Come tax time, you'll get a refund of all the taxes you pay, unless you make over a certain amount (and if you're a high school/college student, that's probably not happening). Of course, you have to tell the IRS how much your refund is and all that.

So, in the end, nothing gets taken out. As far as the short term is concerned, I can't really give an actual percentage guess, but if you need the tax money that bad then what you really need is another job on top of the one you already have.

I wasn't worried about getting my tax money back. I was just wondering, lets say I get my paycheck after working 1 week at my first job. I get paid $130. What would the real amount be that I would be getting after they take out money? And also, thanks for the info so far I appreciate it.

The Knee's post are completely and I mean COMPLETELY relevant and coherent.

On a side note: $130 isn't much. My friend works at Domino's and he makes over $300 without tips and he is complaining that THAT is low. You may want to find a more well-paying job.

$130 a week is about minimum wage and chances are your friend has his own place, pays for college, and car insurance.

$900 a month is low, but not for a part-time job at all.
