Explanation to short hops.

I can do everything with ZS Samus, probably this, but not sure exactly if i am doing it, or if i am good at it, can someone explain it to me?

just tap the x or y button really fast and you will short hop, if you press it slower you will do a normal jump, its really easy

If you press the jump button and release it before you jump off the ground, you will short hop. It is lower than a full jump (about 2/3 the height of a full ground jump) in height and useful for hitting opponents that are not a full jump in height above you, or for traveling across a stage while staying relatively low to the ground.

ZSS has a very high short hop (most characters full jumps are around the height or shorter than her short hop), but it's still useful to have.

ok, then i have been doing that all along, i thought it was some kind of trick to getting a less steep hop or something, ok, thanks for clearing things up

Her short hop is just exceedingly high, just as is Samus's.

Samus doesn't have a high short hop anymore (and her jump is considerably slower than it used to be). Sheik still does, though.
