Alright there are alot players out there that use custom names solely for the ability to turn off tap jump, and while in tournaments at the versus screen they find out their name has not been added to this wii so a common question is "What name has tap jump off" so they can use that name, so i propose everyone creates the name
"↑OFF"
And change the custom controls to have tap jump off on all the different types of controllers and try to put this name at the very bottom, it would even be a good idea to have "↑OFF2" if both players need it. Just an idea post thoughts

This is a really great idea.

If there is any recording taking place I am against it. Trying to play "guess who" while splitting videos is a nightmare.
Very true, but of course the same problem occurs if somebody is just using somebody else's name because their setup has tap jump turned off. In fact a worse problem occurs, because you could end up actually thinking you know the identity of a player when it was actually somebody else entirely.

Props Magik :)

But i thought nametages were removed during replays, also i usualy use the headlien in youtube to find out whos who not that tag
also gotta go with what sponge said and this isnt really meant to be a one size fits all system, people can still add in there names if they want to / use other peoples names

1. Recorded videos aren't replays
2. Hacks changed replays anyways
3. Brawl sucks.

1. Not all recording is done on the spot these days
2. Not everyone has their Wii hacked
3. *Rolls eyes* I guess I should say Melee sucks or something, but that would be just as false.
Go play Melee and stop attacking a game that has done nothing to you.

I think the idea is nice. As for recording, if recording is being done then the person who will be posting the videos up on the web should write down who is playing *** OFF1 and who is playing as OFF2. That could fix that problem. This may be harder to do in a larger tournament, but if the people running the tournament are organized enough to do this then that's great! The sheet for this process could have the general information about that matches. I understand there are usually more than 1 television. So there could be a sheet for each television. They could be labled TV 1, 2, and so on. Then they could lay out the information for each match.

Match 1

Player Player
Character Character
OFF1 OFF2

It is a lot of work. but if recording is a big problem then it is the easiest way I see around that. It also is not hard to modify this layout for doubles. My only other thought would be to maybe add ON1 and ON2. For those who like to have the tap jump on. But it is a very solid idea. :]

It's a good idea, but I think that people should just use their tags when they're being recorded. It would suck, watching a cool video of OFF1 and OFF2, even if it was clarified who they are in the description.

Also, even while playing casual, I like playing with my own tag, just so I have further clarification where I am. I know, it's not really necessary at all, especially in singles (in teams, it definitely is helpful), but if you're playing two characters who look similar, or if it's a ditto match, it's nice to have that tag to keep you in line.
