Yeha, the new event matches look great. The first thing I notcied is that they seem to use the Terrain a lot more. Like the one where you have to stop Kirby boarding Halberd, or destroy all of the platforms on that Skyworld thing. Very cool ideas.

Some are a bit old. "Two Trouble Kings", "Link vs. Dark Link" and stuff, but oh well.

What I really wanted was co-op event matches. That would be very cool.

But yeah, they do have some good ideas for the one's they've shown us. Melee's event matches were really good, I thought. Hope these can compare.

I'm loving the return of the event matches. But it's really not any sort of suprise or anything.
They were a great break from the heart of melee to do something non-competitive. I'm hopin' that the hard setting will be rediculously difficult, probably not though. My biggest suprise is how many days in a row we've had updates!

I'm glad about it, too, Event matches were fun. The difficulty settings will make even the early ones be more challenging if you crank it up. That was a good move.

As for co-op event matches . . . I wouldn't be surprised if we got another update soon saying that was an option! :chuckle:

now I don't have a wii so I don't know if this is possible but what about event updates and downloadable content. Like a newly released event every month or something. Tell me if I'm way off in thinking this is a possibility

That's a good idea. It'd be cool if we were given the option of creating our own Event Matches, and send them to Nintendo so that they can pick a match each day to send to everyone that downloads it. Like they're doing with the Stage Builder mode. One cool epic battle each day, yay!

Anyone notice that the very first event match is "the two trouble kings," featuring Bowser and...... King Dedede???

Now it seems pretty obvious that Dedede will be a starting character, like Mario, Link, or Kirby, and NOT an unlockable character. I find this surprising. I figured MetaKnight would be a starter, and King D3 would be unlockable but if the FIRST event match has Dedede in it.... its hard to believe much else. It seems the only other possibility is that you unlock King D3 by beating the first event match... but it seems unlikely.

Maybe it's just me but I've gleaned the possibility of Sakurai-speak within the game itself.

"W-What? Dark Link?"

I really like the return of the event matches too and i hope the difficulty setting are great and so far the ideas they showed look cool too me hopefully they will announce you can do this co-op to that would be pretty fun and the idea of the possibility to get a new event match once in a while in download able content that would be pretty awesome

Customizable event matches are a great idea and well within realistic bounds now that a ****ing Stage Builder has set the precedent. I'd like to see those added options pour over into the Special mode as well. Here's hoping we'll be able to recreate stuff as outlandish as the pokemon battle event in Melee.

I didn't really enjoy the event matches in Melee, I only completed them for the characters and the stage. So I hope these will be more fun.

Glad he added a difficulty level because a lot of Melee's event matches didn't provide much of a challenge.

Precisely what I thought. Yay for not spoilers!
