Nairo somehow escapes Little Mac's jab combo with an attack here, anyone know how he executed it?

That was a uair, I think.
Just spam uair as ZSS.

You seem new, but if you're not, then this information isn't relevant:
uair = up-air. Which means up-aerial, which refers to the "up" version of the A attack while the character is airborne.
That move, for Zero Suit Samus, apparently came out fast enough so that the move was executed, and hit Little Mac between his jabs. Keep in mind that other characters have really fast aerials as well, so your main may have an aerial that can break out of jabs in a similar fashion as well.

I know that Puff can do a similar thing with Rest against a lot of characters, including Mac and Fox.

Then again, that's a frame 2 (or 3, I forget which) move with invincibility before.

Some characters achieve a few frames of invincibility at the start of some of their attacks and this gives them the opportunity to escape combos like that. Other characters may be able to execute very fast attacks between the time the hitstun fades and before the next hit of the combo would make contact.

It depends on your character. As said above, ZSS's Uair is fast enough to attack in between the jabs. Yoshi is able to DJ out of most things, and possibly even Nair in retaliation to jabs. I'm guessing DI could play a role too, but not too sure.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll have to test this out. Glad to see all the jab combos in this game are not super guaranteed
