Hello, I havn't posted on the forum in over a year. I'm popping in because I am looking to buy an electric car, and I am clueless about any type of car (gas, hybrid or electric.) I've seen some figures estimate that electric cars are as much as 10x more effective per dollar investment than gasoline cars (http://www.squidoo.com/cheap-electric-car). I'm currently driving a '98 Ford Explorer and I get 10-15 MPG.
I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction towards buying a new (or used in good shape) electric car that is as efficient as that website estimates.
Are there any unmentioned upkeep costs? What speeds are optimum for driving an electric car?
Edit: Oh, yes. I intend to get on the interstates if I can help it.
