Hey guys, i've been having a little trouble lately edgeguarding Falco.I'm fine with his up b i've been doing weak knee to up air and other basic shtuff but when he side b's back on stage is where the problem arises. I've been trying to just throw out weak knee hit box to cover it however i frequently miss time it and get sent down. I have worked on the timing and can get it pretty decently amount of the time, but i was wondering if you guys had any ways you cover falco side b.

I've thought of maybe jab, though I haven't tested it, and possibly forward tilt? idk everything seems a little awkward.

Bair is usually your best option, you can use it to stuff them before their animation or hit them as they get on stage. For more precise timings jab and f-tilt can work, but I personally prefer grab because for some reason I have that timing on lock. If you can pull it out I'd say edge cancelling a stomp at the edge is optimal and very safe. I'd say face away\grab ledge (for invincibility frames) so you can setup a stomp (back side has a more disjointed hitbox) or react with bair or a semispike uair.

Do you know if the gettup attack hitbox will send him the opposite way if hit correctly? i assume with perfect timing it would but was wondering how easy/hard it was to pull off, this of course only being if he side b's at stage level which is rare. obviously you can just punish the end lag on side b really easily, was just wondering if there was a way to keep him off at lower %s where a punish wont be much.

If you hit him with the reverse of your getup attack (below 100%) it will send him down and away from the stage and cover the ledge, but it's very difficult to time/you do not retain your invincibility for as long as doing a ledge hop aerial, so it is not as safe. I'd replace that with a ledge hop bair. It's a better punish and safer to execute.

ledge hop uair might even work better since it can cover more space, but yeah, all things to try out thanks.

Ledge hop uair/bair/reverse knee are all good answers to this. If you're feeling particularly swag you can even pull off ledge hop stomps. If you miss the nipple spike you can edgecancel/waveland back to the ledge and drop down knee/bair since falco's firebird doesn't burn you. Against fox you can trade stomp/knee situationally with his firefox to cancel your ending lag and recover to the ledge.

Reverse invincible upAir is usually what I use because it covers multiple heights really well and can even catch on some platforms. You can regrab ledge after the uAir too so it's pretty safe to go for and leaves you in a good position if he firebirds. Plus, ganon habits lol

If they are far enough away, just ledgehop stomp + knee or reverse knee the landing lag. Otherwise you can ledgedash grab if they get far into the center of stage and try to convert off that instead.

If it seems hard to hit, it's cause you only need to call it out once (at like any percent) and falco is dead

Run off and jump up with a nair can stuff the illusion with the weak hit. Uair can also work in this case. Soft knee is pretty much guaranteed in a lot of situations. Grabbing a high illusion is op as fuark, but it pretty much has to be a read against Falco. When you get the grab, and you're by the ledge, don't do anything. Grab release won't give them back their jump, and from there you just have to deal with their upB. It's easier to jab though, because it comes out a lot faster than grab.
Once you've dealt with the sideB, Falcon Punch is actually a really reliable way to cover upB from below, unless they go for a sweetspot. Just make sure to go for it early.
