Edge-Cancelled Run into Down Smash...? *Video Inside*

During a recent match, I was playing as Samus and did what looked like cancelled a run on the edge instantly into a down smash. I recorded the match, the down smash is at 3:50-3:53:

At the time I was trying to fastfall a dair, so I think what might have happened is the edge cancelled my run, and just before I reached air I tried to dair and instead downsmashed. I'm not sure though, so I thought maybe you guys might know.

you can also edge-cancel the run into a down-tilt or down-b

You can also taunt cancel with any character and do any move out of it running to the edge (except air moves). Doing so would be LEET.

I mean taunt canceling is common knowledge, right? You can run, taunt, then cancel the animation at the edge and you're free to do whatever.

So just take the taunt out of there: you can run to the edge and you're free to do whatever.

I knew already about taunt cancelling and edge cancelling aerials and up B's, I just didn't think the same would work for ground moves. Learn something new everyday, I suppose.
