Your eyes happened to drift to my location, I see.
okay could someone please inform me of how this thing works
seriously it seems like one big scam to me even though everybody i know that uses it seems fine with it
i mean you can easily put in nothing in a wii box and sell it for 500$
how is the other person supposed to get the money back?
in other words how does someone make sure what they receive is a quality product?
how come some people can bid 99 million dollars for a ps3 and get away with it without it?
this makes it feel extremely unsafe

would someone explain how it works?

The more you use ebay the simpler it gets. Before you buy anything you have to make an account. When your account is made you buy things from other people and you can sell things to people in an auction. There is a guide on that on ebay. If you don't want to get yourself in to a scam you can check the positive feedback on the person. If you buy an item and never recieve it, you are able to get your money back. You should only use ebay if you can't get an item anywhere near your area.

Yes. 99% of the auctions will use PayPal (the ones that don't, I refuse to use).

Paypal is linked to your bank account, so if you are screwed over, as I've been, you can get a full refund without issue. It's great to get some awesome, cheap, rare stuff, like games and books.

It's like buying anything second hand, you dont know what it's going to be like. The people that auctioned off wii boxes and stuff actually say on the listing 'this is just the box only' so make sure you read all of the listing.

And then there's the concept of feedback, which lets you know if you can trust a seller or not. I have 20 positive! ^_^

So what if I payed for a Wii and then I received the Wii, everything seems fine. But I am a terrible person and I claim that I never received the item I purchased, could I scam my way into getting my money back? How is anyone going to verify that I actually got the item I purchased?

Ebay has been around for what? 10 years? I really doubt anyone here will think of a new viable scam and it seems to be kind of working.

You sign when you accept the package, so then they know you got the package so you can't lie about not getting the package.

I hate eBay. Actually, I hate being stupid. I once purchased 3 different copies of Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II because I was so convinced that none of my bids would end up winning....

Yeah...so only bid on one auction at a time >_<

So what happens to those accounts that try to ruin the auction of newly released gaming systems by bidding 99 million dollars. Doesn't that person have to wait for their auction to end and then they have to re-list it which wastes valuable time which lowers the demand, because more are being produced and released, which lowers the cost and overall profit?

You can cancel/get ebay to cancel ridiculous bids.
