Actually, sorry to break it to you, but at that same video, if you look at 5:34 in slow-motion, Mario begins his up-B and grabs the edge. You can even hear the sound effect when you view it in normal time.

It's subject to change though, and I really hope they change it. I didn't like Brawl's magnetic, hard to get off of edges.

That's true, but considering how it currently seems to be a modified Brawl engine, and also just looking at that video in general in slow motion, like after Wii Fit Trainer does her final smash, I can see she snaps on to the edge like a magnet.

I think you're overestimating the difficulty of falling onto a ledge in Melee just a tad. It's really not hard at all.

Nah I know, it just seems like she was kinda far horizontally to grab it, but whatever.

Is that edge grabbable? Is there any video of it, because as it looks yea, you cannot grab the ledge while using special moves apparently.

Mega Man grabs it in Sakurai's exhibition match.

It's possible Mario was holding down during the cape though.

Edit, for clarification: Characters cannot grab the edge while tumbling or during special moves.
This looks pretty magnetic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=vQD1yJinzeQ#t=412s
Can't say much is confirmed due to the always-changing nature of game development, you never know what they'll change

Well lets look at something. We know a few things about the development process...

1) Some characters are more developed than others (Megaman/FitTrainer are lacking a few animations and frames, even for their respective characters)
2) This game was probably built straight off of the brawl engine.

Mario is seen with beautiful animations, moves that flow nicely and most importantly, a more complete look. He is also the character seen with the altered ledge mechanics. On the other hand, FitTrainer is a bit more choppy, with many animations not done and once again, does not look complete. Her ledge mechanics seem exactly like it was in brawl.

Another thing we know from brawl hacking is that ledge grab range and all that fun stuff is done on a per-character basis. If the engine is the same as before, it's really possible that the FitTrainer we see in the videos is a 'rush to get her in the E3 lineup' character, while Mario was probably the first character fine-tuned due to his neutral, flagship nature. It's pretty safe to assume that Mario is more complete than the other characters we have seen gameplay of, and that we should be using him for our benchmark for everything.
