Earthworm jim thread

Alright, first I looked for any earthworm jim threads and didnt see them. So, if there are any out there sorry for the thread.

Now then, why earthworm jim? 1st. He's non-generic--people looking for franchise variety please dont complain.

2nd. It would not hard to make him into a playable balanced character. The head whip and his gun that has a variety of shots.

3rd. With his cartoonish old-ball yet fun games (except ewj 3d), you can see he can fit the brawl formula.

This is my opinion, whats yours?

Genius. Earthworm Jim would be perfect for smash. unique moveset, creative, actually cool, not a ***** like most characters people have suggested.

2.- How are you defining it worse? what are you basing your judgement on? His games were fun, innovative, and in its time it was a popular character. Popular enough to have a small debut in animated series.

earthworm jim was the best, but his chances are low for brawl, maybe an AT though

Well if he's not making it in the rooster, i doubt nintendo will spend money to acquire the third party character just for an AT.

the problem wiht Jim, is that for some reason he isn't a very memorable character. I myself played the first snes earthworm jim game like mad, and played the second one quite a bit too, but I hadn't even remembered him untill the original poster of this thread mentioned him.

Earthworm Jim was decently original and hilarious, and seems like he would fit into Smash Bros pretty well. My only concern is that there is only room for so many 3rd party characters, and I don't know if he deserves to be ahead of Sonic, Simon Belmont (or some other Castlevania representative), Megaman, Bomberman, or other classic 3rd party characters from more well-established franchises.

As much as I love the pimp'n Earthworm Jim. He would make such a bad character for brawl lol. Especially considering how 99% of the people who will buy brawl either don't know who he is or just don't care.

I'd main him. Loved the games and cartoon especially. He warranted a GBA rehash, as well as a 3d new game for the PSP

Yeah, if this was back in the 90s, EWJ would be one of the most requested characters. His series has basically died though. I don't think that there's been an EWJ game in like 10 years. I heard he's supposed to be making a comeback on PSP though.

How does he not fit in? All of the characters are completely different and have nothing to do with each other. EWJ fits in perfectly.

I seriously doubt that 99% of the people who will buy Brawl won't know who EWJ is. I'll be at least 50%(probably more) would know who he is, and even if hardly any of them care about him it's not like less people will buy the game if he's in it.

If you think about it, almost any random 3rd party character could end up in Brawl. Snake got in because Hideo Kojima was friends with Sakurai. I'm sure Sakurai has made plenty of other friends in the gaming business over the years. Who's to say he's not good friends with EWJ's creator?
