Bzzy. A name few know, but the name I go by and the tag I use in Smash.

As everybody knows by now, yesterday there was an earthquake, the center of which was in Mineral, VA. That's about 43 miles from my house. Nothing bad happened besides everyone here being shaken up a bit. This is the not important part though. On Saturday, there will be a tournament in Maryland, located at Xanadu, a tournament in which I'll be going to. This is not an advertisement in the slightest (Nobody knows who the **** I am, so I'm not worried about it coming off that way, but just in case...)

A while back I made a blog post that was mostly me venting about the scene around here (here being MD/VA), though less about the scene, and more about myself. A few notes now that we're in the future. I'm glad to see everyone's stepping it up (just like myself, who needs to step it up too), and more tournaments can only lead to everyone getting better. Another note is that I've learned that if you train offline by yourself, you can maintain skill (to a certain degree) by doing this even if you don't have other people to play with. You can also, of course, practice tech skill in general and learn about the moves of other characters and how they work against your character. Now, I'm going to two tournaments, one in MD, and one in, surprisingly, VA. But now I'm worried about something else.

I've been to several tourneys in the past (four I believe), though the last one was in March. I've been playing, practicing, getting better, but I'm still worried about how I'll do. I'm not sure how I'll feel if I don't make it out of pools (an outcome I'm really hoping DOESN'T happen) but it's a possibility despite all I've done, as it is to everyone else. My good friends (2Fast, Smoky, and Zanna) have said that I have been getting better, and I really just want to give it my all. Some people going to this tournament, however, include Coney (my personal favorite brawler), GIMR, and Chudat (apparently?) These three players are known for a character they play, very well known as a matter of fact. And I play these three characters (D3's the main though) I feel some kind of pressure from that to do really good, but also have a feeling I won't do as good, and then the best'll be there to see it, which can only make me feel worse about it. Watching them play in person will be awesome though, so the good outweighs the bad.

Today, the three aforementioned friends of mine are together training (I'm busy these days, so I have to stick around) and will be training up until the day of. I'll be joining them Friday (hopefully the hurricane won't be too bad) and leaving with them come Saturday. I have high hopes for this tournament. I want people to know who Bzzy is, and I'm gonna do my best to get my name out there.

I dunno why I typed this up, I just felt like I should, so I did.

Do your best, forget everything else.

Being nervous will hurt you much more than something like lack of practice can.
