Dumb question

What do the various lock icons on closed threads mean? Does one mean it can be reopened and the other can't? Does one mean only mods can post while the other means nobody can post?

Nah, the one with the envelope means there was a new message you haven't seen yet in the topic before it was locked. The boring rectangle means it's locked and you already saw everything in it.

EDIT: Closed envelope with lock means it was a hot topic (many pages) before it was locked, but you saw everything in it. Open envelope means it's locked but there's something you haven't seen yet (go look!). Boring rectangle is what I said before.
