If Duck Hunt got a new kind of game, I wouldn't mind a platformer ala Banjo-Kazooie.

His rival would be Mouse Poacher Cat, an evil cat hellbent on poaching the rare Golden Mice. Duck Hunt Dog has to collect them all and keep them safe. Meanwhile he is also freeing the 7 Mousenators and only once all of them are free he will gain the power to defeat Mouse Poacher Cat. Buuuut it turns out there is a being pulling the strings behind Mouse Poacher Cat's actions: Lucifrog the Satanic Underworld Frog.
So Duck Hunt Dog and Duck go on another quest, this time they need to defeat The Seven Deadly Singers who are hypnotizing people into thinking that Lucifrog is a good guy and that Duck Hunt Dog and Duck are evil, however Lucifrog isn't very smart so he doesn't simply have them work together to kill Duck Hunt Dog and a "Fused Singer" form is teased but never seen. Once they are defeated, Duck Hunt Dog and Duck can gather energy from the world to fuse into Duogk, the Ultimate Half Duck/Half Dog Warrior. They then ridicule the person who thought of such a stupid fusion and get into a fight against Lucifrog who has 7 forms representing the Seven Deadly Sins. Then his Final Form (A secret 8th form for collecting all of the Golden Mice) is where he gathers the powers of the Underworld and becomes Diabear, a Devil Bear Demon.
But will this actually happen? Of course not, too many hidden Satanic References with Duck Hunt Dog being the son of Duck Hunt God and the Duck represents an Angel.
