DSmash Question

I notice myself wavesmashing the dsmash to punish laggy moves, my question is then, is dsmash faster than forward smash if you are facing your opponent, cause it starts behind you, I could probably load up the game and watch carefully but by memory they seem pretty close.

I think its a tiny bit faster if you do it with your back towards your opponent but i could be wrong

its ALOT faster when you do it with your back to them, but yeah I thought it felt faster even from the back thanks everyone.

I've found the D-Smash is amazing, much better than f-smash.

D-smash is the "better" move in terms of its versatileness but it does not replace f-smash. And yeah, it is faster either direction.

I use the fsmash for pistoning, edgeguarding, hitting people over my head and if there is enough stun time to get a sure hit with it.
