dropping packets

Using wireless will always drop packets or so I've read.

Make sure your router is in good condition.

Firewalls can also do this.

AFAIK, dropped packets are only caused my unstable internet connections. If I'm downloading/uploading something that's taking up nearly all of my bandwidth, I'll get them if I try to play SSB (as well as a much higher ping).
