dropping off ledge into fair/dair

hey. ive seen people do it in videos.
say you dthrow fox/falco off the edge, then you drop off the ledge into a fair to kill them.
i can hit them but i always fail the recovery, and cant make it back on. i can only make it on very rarely, but i dont know what i do on those occasions that works.
am i timing the jump wrong? or DIing wrong?
please help

most likely you are timing the jump wrong.

iirc, the knee has enough IASA (interruptible as soon as) frames so that you can jump and up-B onto the stage without grabbing the ledge.

you're probably mashing the jump button to recover, but the best way is to figure out the timing so that you can recover 100% of the time.

dair is a lot harder to dropzone and requires more precise timing, but it's definitely possible.

ahh i figured as much.
becuase when i used to be practicing doing sacred combos i couldnt get on either, then i realised instead of mashing i had to get the timing right. but yea ive just been mashing so ill keep practicing it. thanks
