Dr. Mario / DK teleport glitch

I think I found a new incarnation of an old bug.

So like maybe 15 minutes ago I was messing about with my little brothers, playing Melee, when we were on FD. I picked Dr Mario for the hell of it, ( and my little brothers don't deserve the beating ), and my bro picked DK. We were just playing along, I'm cape-ing to poke fun at him. As I'm doing this, I mix up and make him grab ledge. As he gets up, I cape, then he teleports an instant later.

I just wanted to know if this is a discovered thing, or if I just did science on accident.

I don't have any pics because we are playing on a console in my living room. Just looking for information.

Old glitch, I think Schooblidon has some specifics about it in his Doc mega thread but I might be wrong.
