Just a thought, but how fun wouldn't it be if they have downloadable contents in Brawl. I mean like they would announce something new once a week that's free to download, or quite cheap at least. Like a new character or a new stage and items and stuff like that. Then this game would really never end. Anybody likes the thought?

Downloadable content? LOVE IT!!! That way, they can add stuff that pops into their head. Where would you get this though? The Wii Shop Channel? It would be a great idea!

I dunno... It'd be a little odd. Personally I'd love the idea but I don't see the concept of 'expansions' as one would call them working. Maybe if there was a hard drive upgrade for the wii? It's really determined by the overall size of a character and how things would work on wifi if you had a character another person didn't have. Same goes for stage and item.

It's been a much discussed topic really.

And because of the share stages and screenshots in-game wi-fi thing that's been implemented it would be pretty easy to pull off.

It would be very nice to find a new character is available 6 months after unlocking everything!

Yeah, the Wii Shop Channel would be perfect imo. They have as far as I can tell just VC games and channels there right now so they should open a new section for downloadable content, not just for smash, but that section could open with Brawl, and then other game companies could give their games downloadable content too...

No, it would be hell on the tournament scene. The only excuse for that would have been if we had gotten the game on Dec 3rd, our promised release date, and the rest of the game was just being finished up and added. And even that, they'd likely charge for it, and I do not approve of paying extra to simply play the whole game.

Brought up before, but I don't think it's likely. There isn't much space in the Wii to put it in, so if it happens, a hard drive would have to be made.

Well, I didn't see any similar thread. But yeah, it could have been discussed earlier, but many of the topics here at smashboards have been discussed earlier like character rosters and stuff like that, so I really don't see any problems with it.

If you had some new and interesting idea, or some new info, there would be no problem. But this is a dead subject, and no one's adding anything new to it.

HELL on the tournament scene? Would an extra character or stage being added really be as disastrous as you claim? No, didn't think so...

As much-discussed as this topic is, it still remains awesome so I'm giving it 10 thumbs up.

You're right about the same topics being discussed multiple times. After all, what else could we do while waiting the game to be released?

Ontopic: I'm pretty sceptic about Nintendo's ability to handle the whole DLC concept. As far as I know, the online playing is pretty much new for Nintendo. Wii seems quite limited in that area compared to 360. Maybe next console and next Smash Bros....

I'd be all for it, but I think Nintendo needs to get their act together with WiiConnect24 first. Remember when they said they could deliver new game content to you while you sleep? Brawl would be a good place to start doing that.
