Down Special: an idea.

Set all dpad inputs to Special. Crouch and spam two directions in the dpad. You are now getting insane height on your down special.

Thoughts? Is this old tech?

I tried this, but it seems to be giving me the same height as just repeatedly tapping the B-button. It also seems impractical in the air as the input sequence is pretty awkward.

Using the ground as a basis, how much lift are you getting from mashing B?

It might just make it easier to get the max height, that's my guess.

From just mashing B, I get about 1 mario length higher when I'm on the ground, but when I set the d-pad to B, I barely go up at all.
