Hey, guys! I thought we could have a thread discussing Doubles. Doubles is something that I don't think gets enough love. It's a bit more complicated than two players that are good at singles just playing their singles characters. For example, in Melee I hate :falcomelee: in teams so I go :jigglypuffmelee: even though I'm better at :falcomelee:. Stuff like that. So talk about it here!

Use this thread to discuss:

1. What characters are good for teams.
2. What characters are good teammates for a given character.
3. What team is best out of two sets of characters (I play A, B, and C; my friend plays X, Y, and Z, what team out of those is best?).
4. General team strategy.
5. Team strategy for a given team.
6. Stages in respect to doubles.

I guess I'll start.

I play :kirby2:, :snake:, and :dk2:. My teammate for tomorrow (and for most tournaments) plays :wario:, :samus2:, and :charizard:. We like the potential that :snake: and :wario: have, but I'm not sure if we're there yet in that team to play them in tournament. I'm not sure how good :dk2: is in teams, and I like :kirby2: in teams. Is :dk2: good in teams or not, and what are some possibilities for him if he is?

I play :sheilda:, :marth:-ish, :mario2:-ish
My friend plays :sheik:, :zelda:-ish, :pikachu2:-ish

:zelda:+:sheik: Team works really well, since having both on stage in the same color allows for instant transformations; Sheik can recover by using Zelda way more effectively, either can transform at a moments notice if needed, etc. It's pretty nice lol. Both have good stage control and good edge-guarding. Their projectiles (needles and Dins) +other jank (Nayru's and Tele) may need some getting used to, but once you know your partner's playstyle/mindset/patterns, it's all bueno.
