Dang...Stadium looks alright, I'm mostly concerned with the addition of a special move to Mario's moveset tough...without the replacement of an old move?

Is Mario's break-dance-tastic downsmash getting replaced with the tornado...or will the tornado have a completely new command? Back special??

EDIT: Another point of interest should definitely be the fact that he can use FLUDD while shielding! At first, when I saw this move, I thought it looked lame. No damage? But a move that can be used while shielding might be immensely useful.

Looks like The Italian Stallion (Mario) got a bit of a makeover. Ah man, I hope they didn't change alot of things about how Mario performs on Melee. Then again, if they made him like classic SSB 64 Mario, then I'm all for that!!

No, the cape has already been shown in the trailers, and Fudd is listed here as his Down special move. From the clues here, looks like the Mario Tornado is now his down+A arial?

Mario Tornado is more likely than not his new d/n air. :/

Even though they extended the range of his Super Jump, his recovery is going to be a whole heck of a lot less creative without the classic Mario Tornado... unless you can still get a boost in the air.

You just had to mess with a perfectly good moveset, didn't you, Sakurai. *shakes fist*

Actually, I'm not too upset. Aimable knockback with no damage could be a great edgeguard (or to just annoy friends), so it's a decent tradeoff.
As for the Mario Tornado, I think it'll become his new Dsmash, with his former break-dance-tastic Dsmash becoming his dtilt or something.

Also, PK Stadium 2 looks cool, the Flying section in particular.

Yup its likely an aerial, when it was shown in the trailer he also attacked Link with it in the air, and also in the last screenshot of the update.

Mario's new edgeguarding move FTW~

Maybe if you press B while already crouching it does this, tornado is more of a smash down b? or arial down b only?
hmmm either way im unsure about this Mario is supposed to be the well rounded balanced character but they give him a move as obscure as this?

Bah, never much cared for mario sunshine. This might make marios recovery a bit better though, and add some nice mixups. His tornado was ok for getting a little recovery height before, but fludd will probably have some better way of doing it.. Not great, but not tragic either. His down b becoming a normal move sounds very cool to me, maybe itll combo better or something.

Boosted jump abilities on pkmn stadium and slippery ground seems more annoying than anything. But hey, I bet itll still be a great stage.

Don't fret guys. Besides, Mario needs to become revamped. Just wait and see. He could very well make top tier on Brawl. And these are just his special moves too, so if Sakurai gave him his Fludd water pack, who knows what other different actions he's given to Mario.

Vacuum for Luigi would be great. Another shield charger maybe? Man...that whole concept makes me excited about this game. Talk about going into untouched design space.

People, it's not his down smash. We've already seen his down Smash in the first trailer. The new Mario Tornado is an aerial. He jumps towards Link and uses it in the second trailer. :/

F.L.U.D.D. looks to be the ultimate edge guard. Period. End of sentence.

To those who say that Mario tornado is his D-smash.

He did the move in the air in the Nintendo World Trailer.
Possibly replacing his d-air (drill) with the tornado? thatd suck, really. His drill is super useful. But if any of his moves had to go out of uair, fair, bair and dair, dairs the one I would kiss goodbye the easiest. Marios bair and uairs are too sweet. His fair has its moments too, and we know its in from screenshots.

Go mario :)

Why is this confusing to people? His cape is in, its in the trailers. His fireball is in, its in the trailers. His down smash is in, its in the trailers. His Up+B is in, its on the How to Play update. Fludd is there as his Down+B (listed specifically). His old Down+B, Mario Tornado, has become an airial A move instead (likely Down+A, since its pretty similar to what Down+A did anyway). Nothing has been cut from Mario really, except the ability to do the Tornado from the ground (who did that anyway?) and the extra recovery boost it gave - but likely the Fludd move will help with recovery and if not, the How to Play update showed that his Up+B may go a lot further now anyway. This is purely an improvement to Mario's power with nothing significant lost!

I believe this is just an alternative costume for mario.
I think there will be
-Fluid costume
-Regular melee moveset
-Doctor moveset
-Paper moveset

Maybe Mario's drill could still be in there, but used in a totally different direction. Just like Samus's drill in Melee. I'd be weird, but I would get use to it.
